Žalgiris team loses org, but sticks together to compete

It’s been two weeks already since we announced BESL Pro Season 3 with its main topic of interest being the new regular season format that’s going to change the whole competition upside down as it is quite the opposite of what we’ve done until now.

Teams like wolsung, OnlineBOTS, Esi Pirmais eSports, ayned and alltheRAGE have already announced their rosters for the upcoming season and today we continue this roster announcement spree with another Lithuanian squad - dogmen.

The core of dogmen, previously known as Žalgiris, have competed in both the previous seasons of BESL Pro with both mixed results and rosters, but one thing that has stayed the same is the core duet of centronz and Regg1e who have stuck together through thick and thin.

Coming into the third season of our competition, centronz and his (dog)men have parted ways with Žalgiris organisation, while also making two very promising additions to the roster - Aikas and Boo.

“The situation with Žalgiris org was pretty straightforward. First we brought in tauroff and Sterzig in our team and at the time it actually felt like the right decision. With that roster we managed to qualify for ESEA Advanced division, while also, we got an invite to join Winners League Invitational tourney. Needless to say that the season started great and we all were playing really good and actually putting effort into the game.

But, there’s an end to all cinderella stories and as I remember everything went downhill when we got disqualified from GameOn (and some other qualifier) just because of Stelzig's shady past. After that we decided that it’s best for the team to cut Sterzig as it was hard to play with him if we get denied entrance in events. At the same time tauroff decided to quit the game as he couldn’t find time for it anymore. At that moment the motivation was low and we knew that it’s going to be super hard to find 2 new players for the team and basically start from scratch.

After 2 months or so, we had a conversation with Žalgiris and they told us that they feel like it’s the best for them to put their CS:GO division aside and focus on their main team which was competing in League of Legends. So at the moment we are orgless and playing under our own team tag of dogmen!”

The complete roster of dogmen for Season 3 looks as following:

“Back in December me and Aikas replaced tauroff and eniho on Žalgiris roster and although we have been together now for more than 2 months, the holiday/winter season has messed up our practices quite a lot, so we’re just now starting to work on our tactics and chemistry together. So we’re basically coming into this BESL Pro season in the middle of our team coming together, but we’re all highly motivated to try out new stuff and see it for ourselves if we are capable of playing as a great team.

With myself and Aikas reuniting with Delection and the less experienced, but still hungry centronz and Regg1e we will try to impress the Baltic CS:GO scene!”

As previously mentioned, the core of dogmen have played in both the previous seasons of our competition (both under the tag of Žalgiris). In Season 1 they finished 8th out of the 10 teams with a win-loss record of 7-11 in the 18 regular season games. However, in Season 2 they picked up their game and managed to place 6th out of the 16 teams attending with a win-loss record of 9-6 in the 15 regular season games.

BESL Pro Season 3 is set to start on 1st of April with sixteen best Baltic state teams battling it out for the prize pool of €9,000. More details can be found in the BESL Pro Season 3 announcement.
