NotLikeThis vs 1337HUANIA

Gametime: 5th of September, 19:00
Result: 8:16 on de_dust2

MVP: Butters - 20 kills, 18 deaths, 97 ADR

The first game of the evening started off with 1337HUANIA taking the knife round and surprisingly deciding to start on the CT side as this map has always seemingly been more skewed towards T instead. This definitely showed confidence from their side even before the game had started.

NotLikeThis started off the duel with a typical B site rush on their pistol, but it was promptly stopped by Aikas picking up an easy 3k (0:1). 1337HUANIA then started to gain momentum as they picked up round after round making the scoreline 0:6 in their favor. At that point it was clear for NotLikeThis that taking long is not working so they went towards more brute force approach using short and while it looked to be working on the 7th round, Boo came up massive when the retake of A site was needed!

NotLikeThis were stubborn and were not ready to give up as they knew that one of these situation will eventually go their way, and indeed it did as in the 8th round a 2v2 clutch situation secured them their first round (1:7). But, the success was short lived as in the next round Aikas held his ground when defending A long and few rounds later - Butters managed to clutch a 1v3 situation.

The half ended with a 4:11 score in 1337HUANIA favor and despite NotLikeThis managing to win the second pistol round and two consecutive rounds (7:11), 1337HUANIA were quick to regain control of the game as they quickly rolled towards that 16th rounds with Carcass going as far as even dropping in CT from short with his AWP to help his team win rounds and secure a victory against their ex-teammates!

“A really impressive showing from 1337HUANIA on dust2 as they even won the knife round and still decided to chose to start on that (in theory) harder side of CT, that just shows how confident they are in themselves! As for NotLikeThis - they tried bunch of different things to deal with their opponents, but nothing was successful as they lost most of the early duels. GG’s to 1337HUANIA guys as they seemingly have their eyes on the prize once again!”

MightyWolves vs XGR eSports

Gametime: 5th of September, 20:00
Result: 7:16 on de_inferno

MVP: KrassNer - 21 kills, 14 deaths, 99 ADR

Oh, how the mighty have fallen as Latvian team MightyWolves suffer their second defeat this week by another Estonian team namely XGR eSports! The game started off with Estonians forced to start on T side after a lost knife round, but despite that, they began with a boom! A won pistol round (0:1) turned into successful anti-eco rounds (0:3) that then turned into five more rounds taken by nyte and his men (0:8) as they were cruising through this duel.

In the 9th round MightyWolves finally came out on top in the opening duels and played their utility correctly to force Estonians coming into B site when only 20 seconds were left in the round (1:8). While this gave XGR eSports the opportunity to reset Latvian team’s economy, keen got three very important kills in the following round that eventually led them to boosting their economy and winning two more rounds (3:8).

A massive tempo change was in order as XGR eSports decided to play more aggressively towards middle and A appartements in the following rounds. This decision proved to be the right one as Estonians took the remaining five rounds (3:12) including one were ZIILA single-handedly opened up the site!

After the side switch MightyWolves came off refreshed as they pulled off a victory in pistol round 4:12), followed up by msn burning down a tower in boiler in the second round (5:12), and cleaning up A site in the third (6:12). But, the comeback was short-lived as after XGR eSports were done eco-ing, they quickly took four of the next five rounds to finish off the game with a victory (7:16)!

After the game XGR eSports captain nyte gave us the following statement about the game and season thus far:

“I think the victory against MightyWolves was quite easy, but really necessary for us, as it definitely helps us with our confidence going forwards. As for the season so far - it hasn’t been the greatest for us, but I think it’s definitely still recoverable, because we are yet to play bunch of teams that are below us in the standings and the only big loss for us was against WASD Sports. I honestly think that we have no trouble going toe-to-toe against other BESL Pro teams, but we just make too many mistakes and start rushing into things instead of playing it smart, but we’ll work on that!”

eustonia vs Žalgiris

Gametime: 5th of September, 21:00
Result: 5:16 on de_mirage

MVP: Sterzig - 23 kills, 10 deaths, 123 ADR

VOD: here!

The last game of the evening between eustonia and Žalgiris was a pretty one-sided one as although jORI’s three kills secured eustonia the CT side pistol round (1:0), Delection came up big in the following force buy round when Žalgiris executed towards B site making it a tie game (1:1). From that point onwards Lithuanians gained massive momentum as they kept winning round after round coming to 1:7 scoreline.

In the 9th round eustonia finally managed to get on the board as they came out on top in a 3v4 after plant situation on A while the same thing happened in the following round’s 2v2 situation (3:7). As much as this seemed like a start of a comeback for eustonia guys, Gaborik’s slight misplay of his position in the 11th round let Žalgiris back in game as they took four of the remaining five rounds of the first half (4:11).

The second pistol round was an unorthodox to say the least as an execute towards A from eustonia ended up with them pushing their own smokes thus letting Žalgiris fragging them without much struggle (4:12). At that point it was pretty clear who the winner of this duel is going to be and rightly so as Žalgiris kept shutting down their opponents all around the map eventually coming to a 5:16 victory for themselves!

“Such a great sight to behold as Žalgiris essentially schooled eustonia on how mirage should be played. After a lost pistol round they instantly turned things around in the second round gaining the momentum that was needed to begin their dominant T side. Bunch of executes and fakes towards both sites made me see that I’m not the crazy one as this tactical stuff works! Want to get better on mirage? Take a look at Žalgiris playbook from this game as their practice definitely paid out in dividends! ”
