The second season of Baltic eSports League is a 8 week battle between the sixteen best Baltic state CS:GO teams for their share of the 9,000 prize pool and one of the four spots at this season’s LAN finals held in Tallinn, Estonia at Saku Suurhall arena from 20th till 21st of October!

As previously announced, season 2 has undergone a few changes and one of those is in regards to the regular season play format. This season teams are going to battle it out in a 16 team Best-of-1 round robin format meaning that each team is going to play 2 matches per week for the first 7 weeks, while finishing off the last week of the competition with 1 last game, totaling to 15 games played over the time period of 8 weeks. *Match of the Week

This season the Match of the Week (MOTW) games are picked by our casters and head admin. Every single one of them will pick 1 match that sticks out the most in their eyes and give their reasoning of why You should not miss it! Here are their picks for this week’s MOTW games:

“Finally!!! The moment I have been waiting for so long - MightyWolves playing against WASD Sports (04.09 21:00). Latvians have really impressed everyone thus far as they are yet to lose a game this season, but, they are also yet to face a team of WASD Sports caliber! For me this is the biggest test for MightyWolves and it’s time to prove that they really are on-par with a team like WASD Sports! And honestly, the same goes for WASD Sports - although they are starting to climb their way back up in the standings, we did see them bleed in the game against NotLikeThis, so they are not as invincible as some might think! This is truly a must-see game!”

Renārs “Emvy” Dzintars

“My this week’s MOTW is wolsung against 1337HUANIA (04.09 @ 19:00). This match is going to be so crucial for both of these teams as it’s essentially the one that will decide whether or not they make it to the LAN finals and more importantly - it could ensure them a better seed going into HyperTown Tallinn event! As I already mentioned in one of my last week’s post game analysis segments - we’re currently right in the middle of the season and this is the point where you (as a team) are going to start to feel your mistakes on a much bigger scale, because it’s do or die time for everyone, including both of these teams if they are here for the trophy! Fun fact to note here is that both of these teams have suffered only a single defeat this season and that one loss has come by the hands of WASD Sports. For me, this one is coming down to the map being played! Do wolsung try and go for nuke, thus abusing the fact that 1337HUANIA did not look good on it against WASD Sports? Do 1337HUANIA go for cache, thus risking to play on somewhat even grounds? Or maybe we will see the wildest inferno game this season? Who knows! I have so many questions with little to no answers! In short - I just need to see this game and so do you!”

Renārs “Veneficus” Šēnfelds

“I would be lying if I said that both the choices that my colleagues made for their MOTW weren’t mine two first picks as well, but honestly these aren’t the only interesting matches happening this week! With that being said, for my this week’s MOTW I have chosen the game between WASD Sports and Žalgiris (03.09 20:00). Both of these teams have had their fair share of both success and failure, and they both surely are contenders for making it to the LAN finals if they keep performing well. On a side note - I have a wild theory that it’s actually harder for WASD Sports to play against any other Lithuanian team that isn’t 1337HUANIA than actually playing against Carcass & co! So who knows, maybe we will see another one of those WASD Sports vs NotLikeThis type of games where the underdog just comes out of nowhere and surprises everyone!”
