wolsung vs 1337HUANIA

Gametime: 4th of September, 19:00
Result: 12:16 on de_nuke

MVP: Boo - 25 kills, 19 deaths, 100 ADR

The game on nuke started off with Latvians winning the knife round and with the knowledge of how supposedly bad 1337HUANIA’s T side looked in the game against WASD Sports, they decided to start on CT side.

As the first pistol round began, the choice made seemed to be the correct one as wolsung managed to open up with a pistol round and following anti-eco round victory (2:0). Lithuanians then answered back as in the 3rd round Boo’s three kills secured them their first round and cemented the way for another one making it a tie game (2:2). The half progressed with plenty of heroics from both sides as teams kept trading rounds back and forth, but in the end 1337HUANIA pulled ahead putting wolsung in a three round deficit (6:9).

Following a 6:9 half, 1337HUANIA had a strong A site hold as wolsung attempted to rush in with a few cheeky flashes through the roof, and while YEKINDAR did make it pretty interesting for a second there, it was LaimB who pulled out the victory (6:10). Latvians then responded with a surprise AK buy, which ended up being a smart move as they took the following three rounds (9:10). At that point Lithuanians finally answered back with a round (9:11), but were instantly shut down afterwards as Latvians reset them resulting in another set of three rounds (12:11). In the end though, 1337HUANIA started to string rounds together and once the economy was rollin they left no chance for the Latvian side!

A fact to note here is that wolsung were once again forced to play with Warden as funnily enough hyskeee was busy preparing for an indirect duel against 1337HUANIA himself as he was was set to play against ex-1337HUANIA player pounh who is now part of team Imperial.

“As wolsung decided to leave nuke open in their veto against 1337HUANIA they probably were hoping to repeat the success of WASD Sports, who clearly dominated Lithuanian side on the map. But...it was a completely different story this time around as Boo continuously provided his team with entry-frags on T side and in result hyskeee-less wolsung seemed a bit lost at times. It definitely feels like wolsung lose composure when playing without their calm voice of hyskeee and this time around that resulted in them taking their second loss this season. As for 1337HUANIA - they once again showed that it doesn’t matter who they are facing as if you are not WASD Sports, you’re getting a beating!”

FiGURE05 vs AUTOCLUTCH

Gametime: 4th of September, 20:00
Result: 10:16 on de_train

MVP: cheti - 20 kills, 18 deaths, 98 ADR

VOD: here!

The second game of the evening started off with AUTOCLUTCH quickly exploding on B site and catching FiGURE05 players off guard and securing their first round (0:1). The momentum was somewhat short lived as after Lithuanians were done eco-ing (0:3) they answered back with not only winning three rounds in a row (3:3), but also putting AUTOCLUTCH’s economy in shambles as after Estonians scraped a round win (3:4), FiGURE05 answered with a four rounds of their own (7:4). The latter part of the half however was all about AUTOCLUTCH as they pulled off few amazing rounds to win the half in the end (7:8).

Estonians kept the momentum going into the second half as a strong A site hold from them proved to be unbreakable even after FiGURE05 managed to put the bomb down on the pistol round (7:9). The history repeated itself as once again after Lithuanians were done eco-ing (7:10) they finally started picking up rounds themselves and eventually the game came to a 10:13 scoreline and a broken economy for AUTOCLUTCH guys. This felt like a perfect opportunity for FiGURE05 to climb back and maybe even tie the score, but DoisTa and Sickta thought differently! As Estonians pulled of a miraculous force buy round victory they gained the momentum needed to finish off the game 10:16 in their favor!

After the game AUTOCLUTCH captain zteeek gave us the following statement about the game and season thus far:

“Before the game against FiGURE05 we took a glance at what maps they like to play and decided to veto out dust2 and cache as they played those two a lot. The 3rd map they liked to play was train, but that was also a map that we’ve been very successful on so we decided to leave it in and voalá - train it was!

We started the game off slow trying to see what works and what doesn’t. After a few rounds we quickly realised that A was on lockdown so we decided to go more towards B. That proved to be smart decision as we got most of our rounds there. Switching to CT side it felt like FiGURE05 didn’t really know what to do on T side as we won 8 of the 11 rounds played finishing off the game 16:10.

Overall - we’re really happy that we’re finally winning games as we started off the season with two losses, but now we’re on five game win-streak! At the start of the season we weren’t really confident in ourselves because we hadn’t played together at all, but as the time passes by it’s finally starting to work!”

MightyWolves vs WASD Sports

Gametime: 4th of September, 21:00
Result: 6:16 on de_inferno

MVP: Dodz - 25 kills, 11 deaths, 126 ADR

VOD: here!

The final game of the evening started off with WASD Sports winning the knife fight and choosing to start on CT side. As teams jumped into the first pistol round Estonians were trying to force aggression early on, but without success as MightyWolves didn’t lose a man and later on gathered up for a strategic A site explosion tactic that gained them the victory in the first round (1:0). Latvians kept the composure gained with taking two more rounds (3:0), before eventually starting to fail against the heavy guns of WASD Sports! Once Estonians had the artillery needed to defend their side of the map, the game swinged heavily in their favor! Dodz & co approached the game in a very smart manner, always abusing holes in MightyWolves’ offense and by taking map control in an uncharacteristic way! The first half ended with WASD Sports taking 10 of the 12 remaining rounds (5:10).

Upon the side switch, MightyWolves chances of coming back into this game relied heavily on taking the pistol round, but Estonians were once again a step ahead as they found a crack in Latvian defence with splitting the B site! Afterwards the game went its natural course as WASD Sports took the anti-eco rounds (5:13) and while MightyWolves did manage to scrape together a round-win in the first gun round (6:13), Estonians were ready to hit them with the final blow afterwards, taking the three rounds necessary to win the game 6:16!

“I was so hyped for this game and the fact that teams met on a seemingly even ground (inferno) made it even better! As the game started I was a bit surprised of the level of respect that WASD Sports were giving their opponents. Yes, they were playing aggressively but not to their usual standards as they were not pushing mid constantly like against other teams. They were so ready for this game and truth be told, MightyWolves did okay on their T side, but it still felt that they were playing a bit too slow with not changing up the tempo of the game at any point. All in all - almost all the rounds started with WASD Sports getting the entry kills and the game in general did feel like in the hands of Estonians for the most part. My only question right now is - who can beat WASD Sports?”
