Week 2 match schedule released
We’re excited to announce the second week’s game schedule of Baltic eSports League’s second CS:GO season!
In case you missed the games last week - don’t worry, we got you! The second season of Baltic eSports League is a 8 week battle between the sixteen best Baltic state CS:GO teams for their share of the €9,000 prize pool and one of the four spots at this season’s LAN finals held in Tallinn, Estonia at Saku Suurhall arena from 20th till 21st of October!
As previously announced, season 2 has undergone a few changes and one of those is in regards to the regular season play format. This season teams are going to battle it out in a 16 team Best-of-1 round robin format meaning that each team is going to play 2 matches per week for the first 7 weeks, while finishing off the last week of the competition with 1 last game, totaling to 15 games played over the time period of 8 weeks. This season the Match of the Week (MOTW) games are picked by our casters and head admin. Every single one of them will pick 1 match that sticks out the most in their eyes and give their reasoning of why You should not miss it! Here are their picks for this week’s MOTW games:
“After first season’s encounter of these two teams where we had a record game length of 66 rounds in one map, there was no way I was not picking this duel as my Match of the Week! Of course I’m talking about WASD Sports vs XGR eSports (23.08 19:00)! It is always a treat to see Estonians playing against Estonians and if I learned something from the last time I saw these two teams play - none of them EVER GIVE UP! That’s exactly what I’m hoping to see once again in this match.”
Renārs “Emvy” Dzintars
“My pick for this week’s Match of the Week is going to be eustonia vs SkinLordz (23.08 22:00). After seeing eustonia play last week and knowing how eager SkinLordz will be to secure their first victory in the upcoming games, I feel like this match is a must see! Both teams are able to play both a free for all and strict playstyle, so the adaptations during this match are going to be key for either team to succeed!”
Renārs “Veneficus” Šēnfelds
“This week actually has a bunch of pretty interesting games, but I’m going to go with the MightyWolves against ayned one (23.08 20:00). As much as ayned are currently 0-2 after the first week of games, they did have it rough opponent-wise facing WASD Sports and wolsung, and truth be told - they played a pretty decent game against wolsung. On the other hand - MihgtyWolves are currently as hot as they have ever been securing their first two victories last week over AUTOCLUTCH and Žalgiris. All in all - I think that ayned has more to offer than we have seen so far and MightyWolves could be the right opponent to test their true limits!”
