ayned vs NotLikeThis

Gametime: 26th of September, 20:00
Result: 16:19 on de_cache

MVP: fAnet - 29 kills, 23 deaths, 98 ADR

NotLikeThis opened up their T side with an A take that fell apart quickly once ayned swiftly retook the site winning the pistol round and the second anti-eco. On the 3rd round Lithuanians were ready to buy up and that’s where the round trading began.

At first NotLikeThis managed to pull back three rounds (2:3), ayned responded with two of their own (4:3). In the following round Lithuanians understood that there is a need for pace change and thus they rushed A catching ayned players off guard and thus winning a pistol buy round (4:4).

Though, this did not break ayned’s spirit as in the following rounds great plays from Abyssal and swicher secured them more and more rounds coming to 9:6 scoreline in their favor at the halftime. A note-worthy play in the first half was also Dreamas finding an opening kill and the round with his good positioning in A main.

After switching sides, NotLikeThis clenched the second pistol as they stopped ayned’s mid to B rush which granted them three more rounds in total (9:9). Teams once again started trading rounds back and forth including pistol force buy victories from both sides showcasing how fragile the game plan for both sides was.

Team eventually came to the 15:15 scoreline. In the overtime NotLikeThis gathered all their forces to firstly win all the three CT side rounds (15:18) giving themselves enough of a room to finally finish off the game upon the side switch with a scoreline of 16:19.

Team Redeye vs Žalgiris

Gametime: 26th of September, 21:00
Result: 11:16 on de_inferno

MVP: mōmzel - 24 kills, 19 deaths, 94 ADR

The game on inferno started off with Team Redeye as T’s running down the middle and wrapping A site. The plan worked - 3v3 post-plant situation went their way as they had the superior positioning (1:0). Estonians took the following two rounds (3:0), while Žalgiris started to climb back as soon as they bought rifles taking four rounds of their own (3:4).

MarTPoiss responded with an incredible play from him racking up four kills in Team Redeye’s pistol force buy round (4:4), but Lithuanians once again found their footing right after winning four more (4:8). Half ended with Team Redeye taking last three rounds on the back of playing patiently and winning the necessary duels (7:8).

When Flunk secured the second pistol round for his team (8:8), Team Redeye seemingly had everything to take the lead. Teams went on to trade pistol force buy victories with (8:9 -> 9:9), after whom Team Redeye started to take the game in their hands taking two round to Žalgirisone (11:9).

Žalgiris then pulled out an incredible fake tactic that completely messed with Team Redeye’s heads. Even when the round was about to end and there were only 30 seconds left, Lithuanians hadn’t shown any indications to which of the two sites they are about to go and coincidentally - Estonians were held in the dark! On the back of this incredible round Žalgiris went on to win the remaining seven rounds needed to close out the game 11:16.

MightyWolves vs NotLikeThis

Gametime: 26th of September, 22:00
Result: 11:16 on de_inferno

MVP: prochas - 25 kills, 15 deaths, 96 ADR

Heading into their second game of the evening this time around on inferno, NotLikeThis perfectly read MightyWolvespistol round tactic storming to a quick 0:3 lead. Latvians took their first round once the AK’s came out (1:3), but a triple kill from kAliNkA once again reset their economy giving Lithuanians an even bigger lead (1:6).

MightyWolves found success in the following two round on B site with d3k winning a crucial 1v1 (3:6), but NotLikeThis kept forcing the issue with fAnet buying up a single AWP that just swept away Latvians one-by-one when they came towards A (3:7). With the momentum in their favor, Lithuanians closed out the half with a 5:10 lead.

Now playing on the CT side, MightyWolves took the pistol round in a convincing fashion following a team ace with everyone chipping in (6:10). After cleaning up both the anti-eco rounds (8:10), keen’s double kill in a B site after-plant situation also secured Latvians the first gun round (9:10).

Lithuanian side finally picked up where they had left off the previous half winning three rounds in a row with kAliNkA once again doing work as an entry-fragger (9:12). Latvians bounced back with a successful retake on B and a strong A site hold in the following two rounds (11:12), but that was sadly the last gas in their tanks as NotLikeThis went on to win the next four to close out the game 11:16.

“As I already stated after the match on stream - for the first time ever I saw a performance from NotLikeThis that did not trigger me to say their team name and that’s an accomplishment in itself! Secured knife round led them to start on CT side and with a 5:10 half in their favor I just knew that we had a legit game on our hands. After side switch MightyWolves picked up the pistol and eventually closed out the round difference where it seemed like the game was heading into overtime, but a few crucial mistakes from Latvian side meant that the NotLikeThis were winning the economy game and coincidentally - the game itself!

Saddening is the fact that with this loss MightyWolves can no longer qualify for the LAN finals, and what seemed like a great start for them in Season 2 has now turned into a nightmare. I can’t even imagine what was happening in their TeamSpeak during the game. Congratulations to NotLikeThis though, you have earned my respect!”
